Taxi in Dhërmi — local rides, hotel pickups and beach transfers

Dhërmi is split between a hillside village and the beaches below it, connected by steep access roads that are hard work on foot and busy in high summer. A local taxi closes that gap — from your hotel door to the shore, between Drymades and the village, or out to the next bay along the coast.

How to book a taxi in Dhërmi

There are two ways to reach us — a phone call to +355 69 413 6433, or a WhatsApp message to the same number. Both work the same way: tell us where you are, where you are going and when, and we confirm the vehicle and the price before anything is fixed.

A phone call is best when you need a ride shortly. WhatsApp suits anyone arranging a transfer from abroad or wanting to send a location pin — accommodation in Dhermi is scattered across the hillside and a pin removes all doubt about where to meet. It also keeps the arrangement in writing, which helps for journeys planned further ahead and for airport runs where a flight number matters.

Because the village lanes are narrow and some properties sit at the end of stepped paths, it helps to name your hotel or guesthouse rather than only a street. If a vehicle cannot reach the door, we will tell you the nearest point it can and agree that as the pickup.

Local journeys we drive every day

  • Village to the beach

The run between upper Dhërmi and Dhërmi Beach or Drymades, including late returns after dinner when the walk uphill is less appealing.

  • Hotel and apartment pickups

Door-to-door collection from accommodation in Dhërmi, Drymades and Palasë, with the vehicle waiting at the closest point it can reach.

  • Beach clubs and restaurants

Drop-offs and pickups along the shore road, arranged for a set time so you are not looking for a ride at the end of the evening.

  • Short coastal hops

Journeys to Palasë, Vuno, Jal and Gjipe — close enough for an afternoon, far enough to need a car.

Getting around Dhërmi without a car

Dhërmi rewards visitors who move around. The old village has the churches, the stone lanes and the views; the shoreline has the beaches and the beach clubs; Gjipe and the quieter coves need a drive plus a walk. None of it is comfortably walkable in sequence, and the slope between the village and the sea is steeper than it looks from a map.

Parking is the other constraint. In July and August the beach road fills early, and visitors who have hired a car often leave it and take a taxi for the short journeys. That is a practical choice, not a sales pitch — it is simply easier.

If you are staying for several days, it is worth agreeing recurring pickups with us in advance: a morning run to the beach, an evening return, an airport transfer at the end. Fixing those when you arrive saves arranging each one separately.

What to tell us when you book

Sending these details in your first message usually means we can confirm straight away.

  • The name of your hotel, guesthouse or apartment — or a WhatsApp location pin
  • Where you are going, and whether you want a return journey
  • Date and time of pickup
  • Number of passengers, including children
  • Luggage: large suitcases, and anything bulky such as a pushchair or sports equipment
  • Whether you need a child seat, so we can confirm availability

The vehicle that comes to you

We operate several vehicles. Tell us your group size and luggage, and we match the vehicle to the journey rather than sending whatever is nearest.

  • Rear three-quarter view of the black Mercedes-Benz E-Class used by Dhermi Taxi

    Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Our main car: a black E-Class saloon with a leather interior, licensed as a taxi and used for everything from a run down to the beach to the long transfer to Tirana airport.

  • The white passenger van used by Dhermi Taxi for larger groups

    Passenger van

For groups and families travelling with luggage, where a saloon would not have the space. Tell us your numbers when you book and we will confirm whether the van is the right vehicle and whether it is free.

What to send us

  • Where we pick you up — a hotel, apartment, beach or airport terminal
  • Where you are going
  • The date and the time
  • How many passengers, including children
  • How much luggage, and anything bulky
  • A flight number, if you are arriving or departing

Send those details and we reply with the vehicle, the price and the pickup arrangement. Nothing is booked until we confirm it.

We use your details only to arrange your journey. Nothing is stored on this website.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get a taxi in Dhërmi without booking ahead?

You can call and ask, and we will tell you honestly whether a vehicle is free. In July and August, and in the evening, booking even a few hours ahead makes a significant difference to whether we can take you.

Will the taxi come to my hotel door?

Wherever the road allows, yes. Parts of Dhërmi village are reached by stepped lanes that no vehicle can enter — in those cases we agree the closest accessible pickup point with you in advance.

Do you drive between the village and the beach at night?

Late pickups are usually possible, but they should be arranged earlier in the day rather than on the spot. Tell us when you expect to finish and we will confirm whether we can be there.

Can you take us to Gjipe Beach?

We can drive to the point where the access track to Gjipe begins. The final descent to the beach itself is a walk on rough ground, so plan footwear accordingly and agree a pickup time for the return.

Do you accept card payments?

Payment methods are confirmed when you book. Tell us how you would prefer to pay and we will let you know what is possible for your journey.
